DynaPDF Overview
DynaPDF is a professional developer library for the treatment and production of documents on PDF basis. Typical application cases are request forms which are filled out on the basis of user's inputs, or documents which are produced e.g. from a database. For example, bills or offers can be dynamically generated (ready for press) in this way. More than 60 supported code pages and Unicode predestine DynaPDF for the using in international applications.

Page and file import
DynaPDF can merge multiple PDF files into one, extract single pages from an arbitrary count of PDF files, or encrypt or decrypt PDF files. All importing methods support encrypted PDF files. In addition, existing documents or newly created PDF files can be encrypted, decrypted, and the security settings can be changed.

Full access to contents of existing PDF files
DynaPDF supports a large set of functions to manipulate the contents of existing PDF files. Whether you to extract the text of a PDF file or if you want to delete or change text strings, incl. changing the font, font size, or font color, with DynaPDF this is an easy task. It is also possible to get full access to the content streams of a PDF file so that practically anything can be changed. Any other object such as bookmarks, form fields, annotations and so on can be changed or deleted if necessary.

Support of the new Compressed PDF 1.5 Format
The new compressed PDF 1.5 format was introduced with Adobe Acrobat 6 and already fully supported since DynaPDF 1.6. However, DynaPDF 1.6/7 need to decompress the entire file, also if only one page was needed. The new format is now fully integrated in DynaPDF 2.0 and single pages can be extracted without decompressing the entire file. The processing speed of compressed PDF 1.5 files is now up to 50 times faster depending on how many pages must be extracted from a file.

Interactive Forms
DynaPDF 2.0 supports almost all filed types, incl. global JavaScript function, JavaScript Actions and a lot of predefined formatting scripts. Imported fields can be accessed as if they were created with DynaPDF. This makes it possible to rename fields, change their values, or tab order, or to delete them. Interactive Forms can be created in any European language and by using custom fonts (supported since Acrobat Reader version 5 or higher).

Extended image support
DynaPDF supports the most important image formats which are widely used in the industries incl. multi-page TIFFs. Single pages of multi-page TIFFs can be inserted by using the index of the image. All supported image formats can be read from a file or from a file buffer. DynaPDF supports also Bitmap handles under Windows (HBITMAP).

Native metafile to PDF conversion
DynaPDF 2.0 supports a full featured metafile to PDF converter (EMF or WMF) that supports all types of pens, brushed, patterns, bitmap patterns, clipping regions and many more. This feature enables the conversion of an existing print preview with one single function call. Metafiles can be scaled to any wished dimension, placed on arbitrary positions, it is also possible to zoom into a metafile. Colors of metafiles can be converted during import to DeviceGray, DeviceRGB, or DeviceCMYK.

Metafile conversion is lossless, that means, the converted graphic preserves always the same quality as the original graphic. Enhanced Metafile (EMF) conversion is supported under Windows, Linux, and UNIX. The old Windows Metafile Format (WMF) is supported under Windows only.

Text formatting
DynaPDF 2.0 supports a new formatting algorithm that is extremely safe and two times faster than the old one. Standard formats such as justified or right aligned text can be printed without adding formats tags to the string.
EMF conversion
Already created GDI print code can be converted with only one function call to PDF. Just print into an EMF device context and pass the resulting EMF file to InsertMetafile(), finished!
Color spaces
DynaPDF 2.0 supports the color spaces DeviceGray, DeviceRGB, or DeviceCMYK over all objects. Images are automatically converted to the destination color space.
